This co-op, located 5,000 feet above sea level in the northern Andes, supports reforestation by planting native trees to shade their coffee shrubs, and also keeps a portion of profits to support local schools and other social projects.
At a dark roast, I smell peanut butter when I open the bag and it's quite pleasing in the cup. Best of all, it holds up to dark roast without developing any ashy or burnt flavors -- lots of folks like this one.
